During the early 80’s in the town of Virginia, “Farrah Fawcett-type Curls ” is the thing. If you don’t have them, then you are on another planet and perfectly, in the old age. All the girls in this new town have these curls and love to talk about their hair. Poor pre-teen Aurelie with an off family demands that she must get those curls at any cost. Ignorance and the desire to save a few bucks leads them to a beauty school instead of a modern saloon and things terribly go wrong.
Just as you know college life, sometimes interesting and other times boring, a beauty student sets the timer for a long time and Aurelie’s hair ends up in a mess destroying her looks. From there, Aurelie has to endure public humiliations. Directed and written by Colette Burson, Permanent is a charming comedy that is based on the director’s experiences.
